THE STORYLINE
Logline:

An outgoing boy separates himself from his problems and emotions, which manifests into the form of a girl, who makes everything a lot worse.

Synopsis:

Alex, a social and outgoing teenager, separates himself from his emotions and manifests them into a girl, Lola, who represents all of these feelings that he has. As he moves with life, he finds that Lola makes living much more difficult and is doing more harm than if he kept these emotions inside himself.
CHARACTERS
ALEX
Alex is in a state of depression, like many people his age. Gaining it young, he has never gotten rid of the mental illness. Every negative event in his life adds to it more. To help deal with it, he tries to separate these emotions, hiding and ignoring the fact that he is struggling through life, and hanging on by a thread. His natural outgoing persona he puts on around people hides all this quiet well, but with his depression growing worse the longer he has ignored it, people around him seem to see it all seep through the cracks. His facade is losing strength, even though he hasn’t asked for help and portrays that he is fine. He’s a mix between introverted and extroverted, leaning on either side.
Alex is an emotional person when he's alone, panicked and anxiety-riddled, though around friends he's much more talkative to hide all of it.
LOLA
Lola isn’t much of a character with a backstory, she’s a made up person from Alex’s head that helps him seperate himself from the negative and toxic emotions (the thing she represents). She is a jealous person and when she sees Alex having happiness, she tries to tear it down with anxiety and depression that she holds for him. She's an introverted person, not interacting with anyone but alex the whole film. She has no remorse for the pain she puts on Alex.
She doesn’t have a lot of movement, and much rather spends her time watching Alex with either looks of wonder or glares of jealousy, rarely is she seen with a happy emotion apart from one or two times.
TOM
Tom is Alex’s friend, and is the first to realise that Alex isn’t doing to well within life as Alex reaches out accepting help finally. Tom is a loud and friendly person who seems to always be the life of the party, though when serious he is there for the people he cares about and has a more relaxed tone. He’s a caring and friendly person who doesn’t quite understand the more sombre tone, but tries his best to help. He recognises and notices things that others (like ted) would miss.
TED
Ted is the life of the party! He is introduced as Alex's friend who he doesn’t see all that often anymore, though hes still willing to hang out and catch up with him, still wanting to be friends with an oblivious mindset to what Alex is going through, even if he jokingly references it. He doesn’t make many things seriously, and just wants to have fun. He’s an extrovert, quite like Tom, but is very much more oblivious and doesn’t think too much of the serious side of friendships.
He’s very expressive with his movements and when he talks, often over playing his movements with his hands.
